Why I joined WIC

I truly believe the best investment is in Women Empowering Women. I am 52 and being around like minded women is so important. My Goal is to start a Investing/Entrepreneur workshop for our Youth. I am excited at this next part of my journey in life as I am working along side my daughter to teach her how important these issues are for women. That NO matter how old you are you can make an impact. I am looking forward to learning and growing from some amazing ladies in this group and one day working alongside to equip our youth. It is important to give back and I want to be around other amazing women.

Successful investment experience

My best investment was when I was 25 and began working for United Airlines and had no previous experience or mindset of savings or 401k. I began putting in and this literally has saved me when I got divorced from a very toxic marriage I was in for 12 years. I lost everything. I was able to use that to take care of my most basic needs of life at the time. I want to share my life experience with our young girls and young moms that have found themselves in a abusive relationship and depend on a man the importance of decision making financially and long term. This is so important !! If we can teach ONE mom how to invest in her life and future you can change the life's of 3 generations.

Failed investment experience

This investment at the time was not financially but it changed the trajectory of my life for many years and effected my kids who had to endure this bad investment, that would bring me to loosing my health, my kids respect, and most important MY BELEIF in myself and my worth. A relationship with an abusive man. I know you are reading this and saying how is this a financial investment. Due to all the emotional and physical abuse over time I lost my identity, it caused me to constantly be in survival mode constantly second guessing myself. and I was unable to make even the most basic financially decisions. What is important to understand about investing is what we are teaching our youth and about investing in ourselves. My dream and Goal is to empower our youth that may have never seen the mindset of paying yourself first and how important it is to invest when you are young. And that it is Possible that when you get off Course it is never to late to Course Correct!

I learned that I need to teach my daughter and my older boys what it looks like to LOVE yourself and how important planning for the future is important. IF I can help my daughter while she is only 14 to invest and feel good about her investments that I will have sowed into my grandkids and generations to come. I learned to LOVE myself and INVEST in myself and part of that is being here and being around like minded women that are also empowering eachother.

Other things about myself

I am passionate to empowering and helping women to find their voice! To INVEST in themselves!

I love horseback riding and hope to one day own a horse ranch. I love the ocean and water. I have just left my job of 29 years to write a book " Course Correction" when your life gets off course due to un foreseen events it's never to late to get back on Course. I have 4 young adults and 5 grandkids.
