About Me
Why I joined WIC
Some of life's greatest learning come not from books but from life, and as professional women, we share very similar challenges in life. I believe that if we form an engaged group of trusted women who regularly shares financial investment experiences and possibly invest together, we will grow wiser, invest better, feel supported, and build the financial buffer to protect each of us against life's inevitable challenges.

Investment Experience
Successful investment experience
The major investments I did in 2020 involved construction: 1) install solar panels and 2) renovate my house. I learned what due diligence a homeowner needs to undertake to carefully select a trustworthy contractor/partner, how to work with contractors, and how to defend your rights as a homeowner throughout the construction process. The biggest takeaway is that if you spend more time upfront in selecting the right partner, you will save yourself a lot of money, time and headache down the road.
Failed investment experience
I selected a terrible unlicensed contractor who abandoned job and forced me to file a complaint with the state government. It was very stressful and I felt very stupid for not doing my due diligence correctly, but I learned that it's very easy for homeowner to be duped in the contracting process. I've also dealt with trustworthy but inexperienced contractors and that brings it its own set of problems. In all, I think I tried to save money and chose the cheapest contractors, but cheap does come at a cost.
