Why I joined WIC

I was searching for a community of women in my area who are interested in sharing their experiences/thoughts/anything pertaining to finances/investing. I am very interested in this but don't have many to talk to about it and would like to be part of a group of like-minded people.

Successful investment experience

Honestly, I am newer to the investing world and would like to learn more about it as a whole. I have my basic investments (Traditional 401k, Roth IRA, general investing accounts) set-up but would like to know more about how to be more in-charge of them. I feel there's such a stigma that the financial world is for men, but I don't want to be part of that narrative. I want to prove that narrative wrong and take my finances into my own hands. I'm currently working on buying an investment property, and hoping that will be my first successful investment. Learning a lot in the process and have a mortgage calculator to decide what properties would have the highest ROI.

Failed investment experience

As I said, I am pretty new and thankfully don't believe I've made any poor investments yet. But also, maybe I have and just don't realize it yet. Hoping that joining this group will provide me with a wealth of knowledge that I am able to pass on to others.

Other things about myself

I am a 25 year old female living in San Francisco, CA. I would love to be part of this community as I do not have anyone to talk to regarding this topic. My father passed away last year and he's the only one I would've spoken to about investing. My friends all just do what their parents do/parents tell them to do, but I believe there's more out there. I listen to various podcasts to try to learn more on my own, but am hoping to gain a mentor and friends through this group. Thank you.
